Consulship is on a mission to make high-quality design accessible to all. DaaS or Design as a Service offers design subscriptions to medium and large enterprises.
Client and Scope
Consulship is a startup I founded to offer agile and efficient design solutions to businesses looking for graphic and product design solutions. We developed an easy-to-use software to simplify the process of hiring visual and product designers and kicking off projects on the spot.
Responsibility
As a startup founder, you are responsible for almost every aspect of the business, from launching the MVP to hiring the right people. I designed the concept, performed user research, and created the product from scratch based on customers' insights and pain points.
DaaS
There is a huge problem when hiring freelancers for design projects. The incredibly long hiring process and design bottlenecks. Consulship was built to centralize unlimited graphic design needs with several subscription plans to kick off products to design requirements.
Just after two months of launching, we got clients like LivePerson and Sodexo.
The product plans covered user discovery and product research through individual in/debt interviews, building user persona and storyboarding. We also created the wireframes and prototypes following agile methodologies like Scrum.
The design plans covered design requests like landing page design, logo and marketing assets design.
The Logic
We started with a basic MVP based on competitive research. I wanted to launch a no-code product to perform a validation process before coding. I used several integrations like Typeform, a chat system and tools like Figma to kick off the project.
Once we proved the concept
I moved to create the wireframes. We were keen on user testing to use all findings to design the prototype and design system. We focused on medium and large businesses with little to no time to hire multiple freelancers and ensure the project's success.
The Impact
Consulship was my second startup. The first one was a design agency with little tech involved. We made it easy for local clients to hire teams of product and visual designers to get going on projects ASAP, as most plans included a project manager. As most of our end users were people above 40, the product was incredibly intuitive. Users could submit a request in a few steps and get a timeframe of deliverability. I also reduced the need for chat by standardising processes like correction requests and allowing asynchronous communication.
